Ghosts guns are firearms assembled by hand, often coming in a kit. They are legal. And because they are not classified as guns, they usually have no serial number and thus are often untraceable.
In August, state prosecutors looking into the sale of ghost gun kits and components by Glockstore, a San Diego-based gun seller, asked a judge to force the company to comply with a subpoena. They want the company to turn over advertising and sales data — including the names of people who bought parts to build a gun.
